Born in 1972 in Tehran, Iran, Shaya Shahrestani studied at Tehran Visual Arts Conservatory for Girls and later received her degree in painting from the Faculty of Art and Architecture of the Islamic Azad University of Tehran. She is a member of the Iranian Sculptors Association. Shahrestani has had three solo exhibitions and twenty-eight group exhibitions. Her professional background includes sculpture, design and painting.
