Navid Zafar-Alizadeh, born in 1983 in Mshahad, Iran, received his master’s degree in painting from Azad University, Central Tehran Branch and is currently a lecturer at several art universities. In recent years Zafar-Alizadeh has been enjoying a star status in Middle East contemporary art scene with his strong artistic distinctiveness. Zafar-Alizadeh’s paintings are loaded with layers of emotion, disturbance and trauma induced by tragedy and childhood memories. His life experiences play an essential role in shaping his painting motif. Navid Zafar-Alizadeh has participated in several solo and group exhibitions in Iran and abroad.
